Alex Jette Earns NEFWA Gold Helmet Award
Providence, R.I.  Brown junior wide receiver Alexander Jette (North Attleboro, MA) has earned the New England Football Writers Association Gold Helmet award as the outstanding player in New England for his play in Brown's 25-24 win over Holy Cross.

Jette's performance was nothing short of phenomenal. He made 16 catches for 216 yards, and returned a punt 24 yards against the Crusaders. In Brown's game-winning 63-yard scoring drive to set up a field goal, Jette made three catches, the last a seven-yard gain to put Brown in field goal range.

His 16 catches rank seventh in the Brown record book, while his 216 receiving yards are ninth in Brown football history.

A first team All-Ivy selection as a freshman at Brown, Jette currently ranks fourth nationally in receptions with 8.5 per game and is eighth in the nation in receiving yards with 111.5 per game.

Jette and his Brown teammates will host unbeaten Princeton on Saturday, October 17 at Brown Stadium.  NESN-plus will carry the game live on American Sports Network, starting at 12 noon.
