Alex Norocea, Ade Oyalowo and Michael Yules Named Capital One Academic All-District®

Providence, R.I. - Brown senior kicker Alexander Norocea (Hermosa Beach, CA), senior linebacker Adewole Oyalowo (Bowie, MD) and senior defensive end Michael Yules (South Dartmouth, MA) have been named to the Capital Academic All-District First Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.


A Business, Entrepreneurship and Organizations concentrator at Brown, Norocea is one of the top kickers in Ivy League football history.  His 226 career kicking points rank fifth all-time in Ivy League history. Norocea has connected on 8-of-8 field goals and 28-of-28 extra points in 2013, and has now converted 39-of-53 career field goals. His 7.4 kick-scoring points per game leads the Ivy League.


Oyalowo, a Capital One Academic All-District selection a year ago, ranks third on the Brown team in tackles with 43, including 30 solo tackles. A neuroscience concentrator at Brown, his six tackles for a loss rank sixth in the Ivy League. He led the Bears with 10 tackles vs. Penn and nine tackles vs. Cornell.


An Economics concentrator at Brown, Yules ranks 11th nationally and leads the Ivy League in sacks with 0.9 per game.  Yules had a quarterback sack and three tackles in Brown's shutout win over Penn and three quarterback sacks against Georgetown. He was a National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete in 2013 and an Academic All-Ivy selection in 2012.
