Oakland Raiders Sign Brown’s Kyle Newhall-Caballero
Providence, Rhode Island - Brown quarterback Kyle Newhall-Caballero (Gilbert, AZ) has signed a free agent contract with the Oakland Raiders, the team announced Tuesday. Newhall-Caballero was a two-time All-Ivy League selection during his collegiate career for the Bears.
The 6-foot-3, 214-pound Newhall-Caballero was named second-team All-Ivy as a senior after completing 226-of-369 pass attempts for 2,356 yards and 18 touchdowns last year.
As a junior, Newhall-Caballero garnered first-team All-Ivy League honors after an outstanding season. He completed 259-of-413 pass attempts for 2,709 yards and 18 touchdowns, and ranked second in the nation with 25.9 completions per game.
Newhall-Caballero finished his Brown career as one of the top quarterbacks in Ivy League football history. He ranks 12th all-time in Ivy League career touchdown passes (39), tenth in career Ivy completions (517), and 17th in career Ivy passing yards (5,472).
Newhall-Caballero is also a two-time semifinalist for the National Football Foundation William V. Campbell Trophy.
