Nathan Lovett and Luke Landers Named To CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-District Football Teams

Providence, Rhode Island - Brown senior punter Nathan Lovett (East Providence, RI) and senior offensive guard Luke Landers (Friendswood, TX) have been named to the CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-District Football Teams as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America. Both Lovett and Landers be placed on the national ballot for Academic All-American consideration.

 

A two-time All-Ivy League punter and 2010 CoSida All-District selection, Lovett has posted a 3.72 grade point average, concentrating in History.  Lovett was recently named the Ivy League Special Teams Player of the Week for his play vs. Yale, punting for a 42.3 average, with three punts downed inside the 20, including one at the one-yard line.  He ranks 23rd nationally and leads the Ivy league in punting with 41.3 yards per punt, and also leads Ivy League with 20 punts inside the 20 (next closest 12).  He punted seven times for a 43.7 yards per punt average vs. Harvard, twice pinning Harvard at the Crimson five yard line and one at the seven.

 
 

A COE-Organizational Studies concentrator with a 3.60 grade point average, Landers has been a mainstay of the Bears offensive line, starting all seven games at right guard for Brown's 7-1 team.  He has helped the Bears to 363.6 yards per game in total offense, and 233.2 yards per game passing, third in the Ivy League.  Brown's offensive line has allowed just 10 sacks all season in a predominately passing offense.  He played all 10 games at guard a year ago, and helped lead Bears' passing offense to an Ivy-League leading 244.3 yards per game.
