Boston, MA - Brown sophomore Ben Harrison placed first among college oarsmen and sixth overall at the annual C.R.A.S.H. B Indoor Rowing Championships, held on the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center in Boston over the weekend.

Despite missing six weeks of training in Decemeber and the beginning of January with an injury, Harrison became the first Brown rower to win the Indoor Championships since 2001, when David Simon took the top spot among collegians.

Another Brown sophomore, Chris Heim, was the sixth best collegian and 13th overall among the 248 participants. Brown graduate Sloan DuRoss finished 14th and two other Bears, Dane Westschler and Alex Hurtado, placed 16th and 18th respectively.

Brown will open the 2005 spring season on Saturday April 2 at Boston University where the Bears will take on both the Terriers and the Yale Bulldogs.
