Men's Crew Has Stellar Performance at Head of Genesee

Rochester, NY - The Brown men's crew kicked off its fall season winning both the open four and open eight races at the Head of the Genesee Invitational Regatta on Sunday.
In the men's open four, Brown "A" finished first out of 12 other crews competing with a time of 17:49.74. Following behind the Bears was Grand Valley "A" (18:19.78) in second, Marietta "A" (18:14.80) in third, Brown "B" (18:16.45) in fourth, and in fifth was Colgate "A" (18:26.38).
The men's open eight was a close one, but Brown was able to get ahead of the 25 other crews with a 15:21.65 for first place. Western Ontario came in second with a 15:29.31, followed by Colgate "A" in third with a 15:39.22, Brown "B" with a 15:45.31, and Grand Valley "A" in fifth with a time of 15:50.67. The University of Rochester "A" came in sixth and Harvard came in seventh.
Up next, the Bears will compete in the Head of the Charles on Oct. 20, in Boston, MA.
