Bears' To Race In Four Petite Finals At IRA's

Camden, NJ - The Brown men's crew has advanced four of its boats to the petite finals of the 2005 IRA Championships held on the Cooper River in Camden, NJ. The Bears second seeded freshman eight took fourth place in Saturday's semifinal race, putting it out of contention for a medal. The varsity eight finished fifth in its semifinal to move onto the petite final as well. Brown's other two boats, the non-coxed varsity four and the coxed freshman four, advanced to Saturday's petite finals as well.
The varsity eight will face sixth seeded Stanford, tenth seeded Navy, eighth seeded Yale, Michigan and Oregon St. in its petite final, scheduled for 1:45 p.m. tomorrow. Eighth seeded Northeastern, ninth seeded Navy,12th seeded Virginia, Cornell and Yale will be the Bears' freshman eight's competition at 12:27 p.m.
