Brown Men's Rowers Compete in 2002 IRA Championship

The best showing of the competition came on the part of the Varsity Four with a coxswain, who placed 1st in the Petite Final, posting a time of 6:27.71. The varsity four without a coxswain boat finished 3rd in the Third Level final, completing the course in a time of 6:33.14.

Also posting a solid result was the Second Varsity boat, who competed in Brown's only grand final race of the day. The boat earned 6th place, recording a time of 5:47.64.

The varsity eight competed in the Third Level Final, finishing 4th (5:43.93), while the Freshman Eight, finished 6th in the Petite Final.

This season, Brown had strong showings at Syracuse, Boston University, and Dartmouth. The future looks bright, as the heavyweight freshman eight boat displayed a top-notch performance at this year's Eastern Sprints. The group finished 2nd in the Grand Final race in that competition, edging Yale by a slight margin to earn the 2nd place medal.
