Men's Varsity Eight Wins Petite Final At IRA Championships

Cherry Hills, NJ - The men's crew team took part in the final races of the 2003 IRA Championships on the Cooper River in Cherry Hills, NJ on Saturday May 31. The varsity eight won the petite final with a time of 5:50.34, defeating second and third place finishers Navy and Oregon by over three seconds.
The Bears just missed qualifying for the grand final with a fourth place finish in the semifinals.
Brown had two boats competing in the grand final races. The open fours took fifth place in the grand final with a time of 7:13.12 while the freshman eight also placed fifth in its grand final race with a time of 6:03.06.
The men's varsity pairs won the third level final with a time of 7:45.55 while the second varsity eight placed sixth in its third level final race with a time of 6:13.21.
