Men’s Crew Competes at Henley Royal Regatta

HENLEY-ON-THAMES, England – After earning a pair of victories, Brown University men's crew fell in the semifinals of the Ladies' Challenge Cup on Saturday to wrap up competition at the Henley Royal Regatta in England.

Brown opened the regatta with a win over Team Keane Sculling School by over three lengths and then beat Newell T.C. and Mosman R.C. to close out the heats, winning by just under two lengths to advance to the semifinals.

The Bears then fell to Molesey B.C. and London R.C. by one length in the semifinals on Saturday, completing the 2,112-meter course in a time of 6:13.

Brown returned to Henley for the first time since the 2014, when the Bears reached the finals of the Temple Challenge Cup and the semifinals of the Ladies' Challenge Plate during the five-day event. Brown made its first trip to Henley in 1966 and has captured the Ladies' Challenge Plate in 1984, 1993, 2000 and 2009. Bruno also claimed the Thames Challenge Cup in 1994.
