Men’s Crew Claims Three Races at Harvard

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Brown men's crew picked up a trio of victories, but Harvard captured a win in the varsity eight to retain the Stein Cup on a windy Saturday on the Charles River.

The two crews opened the day with the varsity race in the annual battle for the Stein Cup, as the Crimson used an early lead to cross the finish line at 6:32.0, before the Bears crossed at 6:41.0.

Brown answered with a hard-earned victory in the second varsity, winning in a time of 6:46.9 to edge the Crimson at 6:47.5. After Harvard responded with a win in the third varsity, the Bears captured the final two races of the day, winning the fourth varsity at 6:56.6 and the fifth varsity in a time of 7:34.4.

Brown will host Northeastern on Saturday (4/15) when the Bears look to retain the Dreissigacker Cup on the Seekonk River.
