Men’s Crew Wraps Up Head of the Charles

Day One Recap

BOSTON – The Brown men's crew finished seventh overall to highlight the final day of competition as the Bears took on one of the largest fields in the country this past weekend at the Head of the Charles Regatta. In addition, Brown rowers held their annual Pull for a Cure event, which raised over $57,000 for breast cancer research. After the Brown freshmen captured the Club 8+ event with a record-setting performance on the first day, the team showed impressive depth and speed under windy conditions and blue skies in the final go-around on Sunday.

The varsity eight put in a strong race and captured the seventh spot overall, finishing third-fastest amongst all collegiate crews while outpacing reigning national champion Washington.

The second varsity finished 22nd in 15:30.6 and the third varsity took 23rd with 15:39.3, fast enough to beat varsity crews from EARC rivals Syracuse and Dartmouth.

Full results for the event can be accessed at www.row2k.com.

Brown returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 23 when the Bears compete at the Foot of the Charles.
