PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Morgan Gerlak (Baltimore, Md.), a rising senior on the Brown University men's crew team, earned a bronze medal at the U23 World Rowing Championship on Saturday in Linz, Austria.

Gerlak, one of three Bears representing the United States at the U23 World Championships, helped the straight four boat finish third overall in a time of 6:03.8. Romania claimed first place at 5:58.7 and Australia finished runner-up in a time of 6:01.1.

The spots for the eight and four boats were determined at the under-23 selection camp, where 20 of the top collegiate rowers in the country gathered to train under Brown head coach Paul Cooke out of Brown's Marston Boathouse during the final three weeks of June.
