PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown men's crew will open the 2013 spring season with a pair of home races, first playing host to Yale University on Friday, March 29, before taking on Boston University on Saturday, March 30 in Providence, R.I. Brown and Yale will start at 9:10 a.m. while the Bears will take on BU at 9:40 a.m.

The Bears are coming off an impressive 2012 season, when the varsity squad won the Eastern Sprints and the Ivy League Championship and finished second at the Intercollegiate Rowing Association National Championship. Brown finished second in the Ten Eyck Points Trophy at the IRA and was awarded the Clayton Chapman Trophy.
Yale's varsity squad finished eighth at the Eastern Sprints and 12th at the IRA last season. Yale picked up the victory between the two schools last year in Derby, Conn.
BU's varsity eight finished seventh in the Eastern Sprints last season. The Michalson Cup is given to the winner between Brown and BU. BU holds the cup, having won the race in 2011 in the most recent race between the two programs.

Carroll in World Cup || Leigh Carroll ('12) will be racing in the Samsung World Cup on March 22-24 in Sydney, Australia. Carroll, who coxed the Men's Varsity Eight at Brown in 2012, will be racing with US Rowing's Women's Eight at the World Cup. For more information on the Samsung World Cup, click HERE.
