Brown Looks to Speed Past Competition at EARC Sprints
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Head coach Paul Cooke and the Brown Men's Crew heads to Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass., on Sunday, May 13, for the start of postseason racing at the 67th Eastern Association of Rowing Colleges (EARC) Sprints. Not only is the top spot in the EARC on the line, but the Ivy League trophy is also up for grabs.
Although top-seeded Harvard appears poised to maintain possession of the Marc Bergschneider Ivy League Heavyweight Trophy for a third-consecutive season as the Crimson has defeated its last 20 and 35 of its last 36 dual opponents, their last loss did come to Brown in 2010.
The second-seeded Bears come in with wins in its last two Cup races and with its sights on becoming Ivy champions once again after their two-year reign in 2008 and 2009.
