Brown Men’s Crew Shows Speed at Head of the Genesee
Rochester, N.Y. – Brown put five boats on the water at the Head of the Genesee on October 15 and showed some early speed. Brown's varsity and JV fours finished one-two in their races while, in a dual race against Cornell, the Bears varsity eight topped the Big Red.
Brown entered two boats in the men's four event and took first and second in the race. The "A" boat for Brown showed their speed, finishing in 17:15.60, more than a minute an a quarter ahead of the third-place finisher. Bruno's "B" boat finished nearly 20 seconds ahead of third, crossing the line at 18:07.07.
Both Brown and Cornell entered three boats in the men's open eight event and Brown's "A" topped Cornell by nearly 10 seconds, finishing in 14:42.18. The Bears also took third in the race as the "B" boat crossed at 15:14.24. Bruno's third boat also showed well, topping two Cornell teams a 15:27.72.
The Bears now ready for the Head of the Charles on Oct. 22 & 23.
