Van Knotsenburg ’06 Helps Canada to Bronze Medal at World Rowing Championships
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown Crew continued to make its presence felt on the international rowing stage as former Bruno standout Steve Van Knotsenburg '06 turned in an impressive performance at the 2011 World Rowing Championships in Bled, Slovenia.
Van Knotsenburg's coxed pair went on to win a bronze medal, one of four Canadian medals won at the 2011 Championships (two silver, two bronze).
Van Knotsenburg along with coxswain Kevin Light and Brian Price finished just under three seconds behind second-place Australia, posting a time of 7:00.76. The Canadian boat was just under five seconds behind the gold medal winners from Italy.
Another Brown standout, Nikola Stoijc '94, was also in action at the World Championships, and advanced to the B final in the coxless pair for Serbia.
