Brown Men’s Crew Finishes Fourth at EARC Sprints

Worcester, Mass.  –  At the 2011 EARC Sprints, Brown Men's Crew fought its way to a fourth-place finish, trailing only Wisconsin and Ivy League Rivals, Princeton and champion Harvard. In a highly contested grand final of the varsity eight, all four teams put fourth impressive times, while the Bears finished fourth, just under four seconds off the pace.

Brown was right with the conference's best, falling by less than a length to 2011-victor Harvard in the V8. Brown finished with a time of 5:43.597, which was just over a second behind the Badgers and the Tigers.

The Bears also took fourth in the third varsity eight grand final with a time of 6:04.394. Bruno's 2V8 boat also advanced to the final and came in fifth at 5:57.316.

Brown's 4V8 came through with a bronze medal, finishing just behind Harvard and Navy at 6:35.783.

The Bears' freshman eight made the petite final and topped second-place Wisconsin by almost half a length, finishing in 6:02.408.
