McAndrew Named Ivy League Player of the Week

Providence, Rhode Island - Brown senior guard Mark McAndrew (Barrington, RI) has been named the Ivy League Player of the week for his role in leading Brown a 2-1 record in three games last week. McAndrew led Brown in scoring in all three games, an 86-79 overtime win over Quinnipiac, a 68-52 victory over New Hampshire and a 70-51 loss to Providence College.

McAndrew, the Ivy League's leading scorer with 17.0 points per game, scored five of his team high 21 points in overtime on Monday to lead Brown over Quinnipiac, while also grabbing a game high eight rebounds against the Bobcats.

He came back on Thursday to register a game high 19 points, connecting on 6 of 10 field goals, and pull down five rebounds in the Bears' 68-52 win over New Hampshire. In Brown's third game of the week on Sunday, McAndrew scored a game high 15 points against Providence.

McAndrew, who is also averaging 5.2 rebounds per game for the Bears, has helped Brown to a 5-4 record this season. The Bears will return to action after final exams on Saturday, December 22nd against Hartford, in an 11:00 a.m. start in Hartford, Connecticut.
