Providence, RI - Brown freshman point guard Damon Huffman (Petoskey, MI) has been named the Ivy League's Rookie of the Week for his play in the Bears' early season games.
Huffman opened the season by scoring 16 points and handing out four assists against Missouri at the Guardians Classic in Columbia, Missouri. He connected on 5 of 7 three-point baskets. His 5 treys are ninth best in the Brown record book.
Huffman came back with 8 points , 5 rebounds and 4 assists against Sam Houston State in the second round of the Guardians Classic. He then added 14 points against Rhode Island on 5 of 8 shooting from the field, connecting on 4 of 6 three-point baskets.
The former Petoskey High School standout has started all four Brown games this season and is the Bears' third leading scorer with 10.0 points per game. He is Brown's team leader in assists (14) and three point baskets (10 of 21).
