Brown opens its 102nd season of intercollegiate basketball against Eastern Michigan on Friday, facing the Eagles for the first time ever. Head coach Craig Robinson's team returns four of five starters, including an All-Ivy backcourt of senior first team All-Ivy Mark McAndrew, the Ivy League's leading scorer with 18.6 points per game, and senior Damon Huffman, the league's seventh-leading scorer (14.7 ppg.) and an honorable mention All-Ivy selection a year ago.
Brown posted an 11-18 record in 2006-2007, including a 6-8 mark in the Ivy League. Eight lettermen and four starters return from last year's squad. Last year, Brown opened its season at the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic with a 45-34 loss vs. Michigan State.
Game time for Friday's game is 12:00 noon at Eastern Michigan's Convocation Center (8,824) in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Following Friday's season opening game against the Eagles, Brown will stay in the area to face Michigan on Sunday, November 11th at Crisler Arena in Ann Arbor, also starting at 12:00 noon.
