Ruscoe, Becker and Flaherty Named Brown Basketball Captains for 2005-2006

Providence, RI - Brown men's basketball coach Glen Miller announced that senior Luke Ruscoe (Nelson, New Zealand) and juniors Marcus Becker (Martinsville, VA) and PJ Flaherty (Merrimack, NH) have been named captains of the 2005-2006 Brown men's basketball team.
The 6-7 Ruscoe, the lone senior on the 2005-2006 team, was co-captain of last year's team. He led the Bears in rebounding with 5.6 rebounds per game, and was Brown's second leading scorer with 10.3 points per game. Ruscoe netted a season high 25 points against Sam Houston State in the Guardian's Classic, and scored 21 points against both Hartford and Central Florida. He was instrumental in Brown winning the UCF Holiday Invitational, being named to the All-Tournament Team.
Becker started 22 of 28 games at point guard for Miller's team, averaging 4.8 points per game. His 61 assists ranked third on the Brown team. Becker netted a career high 12 points against Harvard, connecting on 4 of 7 field goals from behind the three-point arc. His 8 rebounds in Brown's final game of the season vs. Yale were a career high.
The 6-9 Flaherty earned starts in 22 of 28 games last season, scoring in double figures six times. Flaherty tossed a career high 14 points against new Hampshire, and shot 51 percent from the field (64-126) to lead the Bears. He pulled down a career high 7 rebounds against Yale.
