Men's Basketball Stumbles At Rhode Island, 67-48

kingston, RI - Final exams break came at the right time for the Brown men's basketball team following a 67-48 loss to Rhode Island Monday evening at URI's new Ryan Center. The Bears, who have played six of their first eight games on the road, will break for finals and return to action on December 21, 2002 at Central Connecticut.
Brown trailed 30-13 at the half and was unable to get any closer in the second half. The Bears shot just 30 percent from the field, connecting on 6 of 27 field goals.
Senior forward Alai Nuualiitia led the Bears with 16 points while grabbing seven rebounds. He connected on 5 of 8 shots from the field. Also scoring in double figures for the Bears was junior guard Mike Martin, who scored 11 points on 4 of 6 shooting from the field, including 3 of 5 treys.
