Men's Basketball Falls To Holy Cross

Providence, RI - Senior Tim Szatko scored a game-high 20 points and pulled down 8 rebounds to lead Holy Cross to a 72-56 non-league win over Brown at the Pizzitola Sports Center.

Holy Cross led Brown, 29-23, at the half with Patrick Wheartly leading the way with 11 points and 4 rebounds. Brown's Jaime Kilburn scored to open the second half and bring the Bears to within four points, 29-25. The Crusaders broke the game open by outscoring the Bears 22-7 over the next 7:37 to grab a 51-32 lead on a free throw by Szatko with 12:03 remaining in the game.

Brown senior Earl Hunt, who missed the Bears' last two games with a thigh injury, led the Bears in scoring with 12 points. Sophomore guard Jason Forte netted 11 points for the Bears while senior Alai Nuualiitia added 10 points and grabbed 8 rebounds.

Whearty provided a spark for the Crusaders with 15 points, with 6 of 6 shooting from the field and 4 rebounds in only 18 minutes of play.

Holy Cross shot 48 percent from the field, connecting on 27 of 56 goals, while Brown was held to 33 percent shooting (18 of 54) from the field.
