HIGH POINT, N.C. (AP) - Earl Hunt had 35 points and 11 rebounds to lead Brown to a 81-69 win over High Point on Saturday.
Hunt was 11-for-20 from the field and hit 73 percent at the line (11-15) to advance the Bears to 5-1.
The only other Brown player in double digits was freshman Jason Forte, who collected all 10 of his points with a perfect performance at the foul line.
High Point (2-3) hung with the Bears most of the way, and took a 26-21 lead late in the first half on a 3-pointer from Steve Cornette. But Brown pushed back to take a 33-30 halftime advantage.
The Panther's last lead was 43-42 with 15:56 to play after two free throws by Dustin Van Weerdhuizen, who led High Point with 21 points.
High Point pulled within 73-67 with 1:48 left on a Van Weerdhuizen lay-up, but would get no closer as Hunt took over from the line to seal Brown's victory.
