Lawrenceville, NJ - Brown dropped to 0-2 for the season with a 69-53 loss to Rider College in the season opener for the Broncs.
Freshman Sam Manhanga led the Bears with 19 points and 7 rebounds.
Brown trailed 35-27 at the half and by as many as 23 points in the second half, 59-36. Brown rallied with a 15-0 spurt to pull to within eight points of the Broncs, 59-51 on a layup by senior Pat Powers with 4:40 remaining. The Bears were outscored 10-2 the rest of the way.
In addition to Manhanga's 19 points, Powers added 10 points and 7 rebounds. Junior Jason Forte was held to seven points due to foul trouble.
