Forte, Huffman and Jeppesen Lead Bears Over Columbia, 80-56

Providence, RI - Senior Jason Forte scored 20 points and freshman Damon Huffman added a career high 17 points, to lead Brown to an 80-56 Ivy League win over Columbia to complete the season sweep over the Lions. The win lifts the Bears to 11-15 overall, 4-8 in the Ivy League, while Columbia drops to 12-14, 3-10 in Ivy play.
Brown led from start to finish, jumping out to a 22-11 lead to open the game. The Bears never looked back, leading by as many as 26 points in the first half, 44-18, on a three-point basket by Huffman with 35 seconds remaining in the half, his fifth trey of the half.
The second half was more of the same as the Bears cruised to a 27 point lead, 59-32, on a three-point basket by sophomore Marcus Becker with 12:30 remaining in the game.
In addition to scoring 20 points, Forte was outstanding in all facets of the game, handing out six assists and making four steals. His 186 career steals are one short of the all-time Brown mark of 187 steals by Mike Waitkus from 1982-1986.
Huffman's 17 points came on 5 of 7 shooting from behind the three-point arc. Freshman Keenan Jeppesen also recorded his career scoring high, connecting for 16 points on 7 of 9 shooting from the field. Sophomore Sam Manhanga was Brown's fourth double figure scorer with 10 points.
Freshman John Baumann scored 16 points on 6 of 12 shooting from the field to lead Columbia.
