Providence, RI - Tim Begley and Ibrahim Jaaber scored 22 points each to lead first place Penn to a 79-62 Ivy League victory over Brown at the Pizzitola Sports Center. The win gives the Quakers a 15-7 overall record and an 8-0 Ivy record, while the Bears fell to 9-12, 2-5 in the Ivy League.

The Bears are mired in a shooting slump from behind the three-point arc. Brown shot just 17 percent from three-point range (4-23), and over its last three games have converted just 12 of 65 treys (18 percent).

Trailing 31-26 at the half, Brown cut the Quakers' lead to three-points, 31-28, on a layup by Luke Ruscoe with 19:39 remaining. The Bears had several opportunities to get closer, but a missed shot and a turnover on their next two possessions stopped the momentum. The Quakers outscored the Bears, 27-6 over the next nine minutes to take control of the game.

The Bears were led by freshman Keenan Jeppesen, who scored nine points and grabbed four rebounds. Senior Jason Forte and freshman Adolphe Coulibaly netted eight points each.

For the Quakers, Jabber grabbed 9 rebounds to go with his 22 points, while Begler dished out 8 assists with his 22 points. Mark Zoller scored 14 points and grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds. Ryan Pettinella also scored in double figures with 10 points. The Quakers out-rebounded the Bears by a 51-25 margin, grabbing 16 offensive rebounds.

The Bears will be back in action Saturday night at the Pizzitola Sports Center, facing Princeton, who lost to Yale Friday night by a 56-43 margin.
