Providence, RI - Junior Earl Hunt scored 26 of his game high 35 points in the second half as Brown rallied for a 95-83 non-league victory over Navy. The victory lifts the Bears to 8-3 overall, the most non-league win for the Bears since the Ivy League was formed.
Brown rallied from a 65-59 deficit with 9:12 remaining. The Bears outscored 20-8 over the next 5:02 to grab a 79-73 advantage with 4:10 remaining on two free throws by Hunt. Brown exploded for 60 points in the decisive second half.
The Bears shot a phenomenal 83 percent in the second half (19 of 23) after shooting just 26 percent in the first half. Hunt, the Ivy League's leading scorer, was 9 of 10 from the field in the second half, and hit10 of 10 free throws for the game in scoring 30 or more points for the seventh time in his career.
Senior guard Omari Ware scored a season high 14 points, converting 10 of 10 free throws, while handing out six assists. Senior forward Shaun Etheridge also scored in double figures for the Bears with 11 points.
