Providence, R.I. - Brown senior guard Sean McGonagill (Brookfield, Ill.) was named the Ivy League's Player of the Week for the second time this season following his 29-point performance in Brown's 73-56 win over Yale Saturday afternoon.
McGonagill, the Ivy League's leading scorer, shot a sizzling 7-of-9 from beyond the three-point arc in his 29-point effort against the Bulldogs.
He completely took over the game in the second half when Brown needed him most, scoring 11 points in a 13-2 run after Yale had pulled to within five points, 52-47, with 8:03 remaining. He had two three-pointers in the run, including a four-point play.
For the game, McGonagill connected on 8-of-11 field goals and shot 6-of-7 from the free throw line, while adding three rebounds off the defensive glass. His seven treys are 8th best in Brown basketball history.
McGonagill ranks seventh in the nation with 3.75 treys per game. His 19.3 points per game lead the Ivy League and ranks 37th in the nation.
Brown hosts its first full Ivy League weekend on Friday and Saturday, facing Cornell on Friday, January 31 (7pm) and Columbia on Saturday, February 1 (6pm) at the Pizzitola Sports Center.
