    The Ivy League released its winter list of Academic All-Ivy honorees, with 10 Brown student-athletes being recognized. The five males and five females were starters or key reserves on their respective varsity athlete teams and carry a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average.

    Princeton used a strong second half surge to pull away from Brown and earn an 81-47 Ivy League victory over the Bears at Jadwin Gymnasium behind junior Brandon Connolly’s 14 points. Brown sophomore point guard Sean McGonagill handed out four assists in the game and established a new Brown single season record for assists with 157, breaking the previous mark of 155 by Jason Forte in 2002-2003
  • Penn Rallies For 54-43 Win Over Brown

    Senior All-Ivy guard Zack Rosen scored 11 of his game high 19 points in the second half to lead Penn to a 54-43 come-from behind Ivy League win over Brown Friday evening at the Palestra. Four of Brown’s five starters played 40 minutes – sophomore Sean McGonagill, junior Matt Sullivan, senior Jean Harris and junior Tyler Pointielli - while the fifth, sophomore Dockery Walker, played 34 minutes.
  • Brown Wraps-Up 2011-2012 Season At Penn and Princeton

    Brown's men's basketball team will wrap-up its 106th season of intercollegiate basketball on the road, first traveling to Philadelphia to face Penn on Friday, March 2 (7:00 p.m.), and then on to Princeton to battle the Princeton Tigers on Saturday, March 3 (7:30 p.m). The Bears will be graduating just one senior, guard Jean Harris '12, and will return 14 players to next year's squad.   • Three-Point Barrage, McGonagill’s 28 Points, Leads Brown Over Columbia, 94-78

    Sophomore guard Sean McGonagill’s 28 points led six Brown players in double figures, as the Bears cruised to a 94-78 Ivy League win over Columbia Saturday evening at the Pizzitola Sports Center. Brown utilized sizzling three-point shooting to disarm the Lions, connecting 14 of 22 three-point field goals (64-percent).

    The Brown men's basketball will play its final home games of the 2011-2012 season, hosting Cornell on Friday, February 24 (7:00 pm) and Columbia on Saturday, February 25 (6:00 p.m.) at the Pizzitola Sports Center. Brown will honor its three seniors – Jean Harris ’12, student-coach Marques Coleman ’12, and manager Andrew Varone ’12 – in ceremonies prior to Saturday night’s game.

    Brown dropped a 69-63 Ivy League decision to Cornell at the Pizzitola Sports Center Friday evening, despite a getting 23 points and 17 rebounds, both career highs, from sophomore forward Dockery Walker. Walker scored a career high 23 points on phenomenal 10 of 11 shooting from the field, and completed the double-double with a career high 17 rebounds.

    Brown University junior guard Matthew Sullivan (Wilmette, IL) has been named to the Capital One Academic All-America® Men’s Basketball team in Division I, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Sullivan was named to the Academic All-American third team.
  • Dartmouth Rallies For 58-53 Win Over Brown

    Brown was held without a field goal in the game’s final 7:08, as Dartmouth outscored the Bears by a 15-3 margin to earn its first Ivy win of the season, 58-53, over the Bears at Leede Arena. The win gives the Big Green a 5-21 overall record, 1-9 in the Ivy League, while Brown falls to 7-20, 1-9 in league play. Junior Matt Sullivan and sophomore Sean McGonagill scored 14 points each to lead the Bears.

    Princeton utilized a first half three-point barrage to build a 14-point lead and cruise to a 77-63 Ivy League win over Brown at the Pizzitola Sports Center. Brown guard sophomore Sean McGonagill led all scorers with 17 points, while also adding six assists and five rebounds. The win lifts the Tigers to 11-9 overall, 2-2 in the Ivy League, while Brown falls to 7-15 overall, 1-4 in Ivy play.

Junior guard Stephen Albrecht kept the Bears in the game by scoring a career high 23 points, connecting on 8 of 19 field goals with four treys.

Yale (11-4, 0-1 Ivy) junior Austin Morgan scored 18 points in the Bulldogs win over the Bears last week to open the Ivy season.

    Brown University Basketball and Rhode Island Special Olympics teamed together for a basketball jamboree and clinic on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at the Olney Margolies Athletic Center. The evening featured over 100 Special Olympians from across the state of Rhode Island, along with players and coaches from Brown’s men’s and women’s basketball team, including head men’s coach Jesse Agel and head women’s coach Jean Marie Burr.

    Yale rallied for a 68-64 win over the Bears in the Ivy League opening game for both teams at John J. Lee Amphitheater Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs out-scored the Bears, 13-3, in the game’s final 3:10 to dash Brown’s upset bid. Brown sophomore guard Sean McGonagill scored 16 of his game high 23 points in the first half. He connected on 9 of 16 field goals, including 4 of 6 from behind the three-point arc.
