Providence, Rhode Island - Brown senior guard Garrett Leffelman (Naperville, IL) has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District Men's Basketball team as voted on by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Leffelman is one of two Ivy League players to be selected to All-District teams, and his name will be placed on the national ballot for Academic All-American consideration.
An Economics and Political Science concentrator with a 3.89 grade point average, Leffelman has started 17 of 18 games for the Bears, and is averaging 10.0 points per game, third best on the Brown squad.
He's scored in double figures 10 times this season, including a career high 22 points against Providence College, connecting on 9 of 15 field goals, including 4 of 7 from behind the three point arc, equaling his career high in treys. He pulled down a career high seven rebounds in games against Fordham and Yale.
Leffelman and his Brown teammates are back in action again this Friday and Saturday, February 4 & 5, hosting Columbia and Cornell at the Pizzitola Sports Center.
