Providence, Rhode Island - The Brown men’s basketball team
will travel 15 minutes north of campus for a Thanksgiving eve
match-up against Bryant College at the Chace Athletic Center,
starting at 4:00 p.m.
Brown (2-3) is coming off a 75-62 win over Maine on Sunday. Matt Mullery ’10 scored 24 points and Peter Sullivan ’11 added 20 points for the Bears. Bryant will be playing at home for the first time this season, still looking for its first win (0-4).
Brown and Bryant have eight times, dating back to 1985-86, with the Bears holding an 8-0 series advantage. The Bears captured the last meeting, beating the Bulldogs, 69-56 on January 10, 2009, at the Pizzitola Sports Center.
Brown senior center Matt Mullery (Millstone, NJ) was named the Ivy League Player of the Week and freshman Andrew McCarthy (Sudbury, MA) earned Ivy League Rookie of the Week honors for their play in games last week against Rhode Island, St. John’s and Maine. Mullery averaged over 16 points per game and shot 19 of 29 (.655) from the field. McCarthy averages nearly 10 points and 4.0 rebounds, scoring 11 points and pulling down 6 rebounds against St. John’s.
