Brown pitcher Rob Hallberg (River Edge, NJ) has been named a New England Collegiate Baseball League All-Star for his performance so far this summer for the Manchester Silkworms. Hallberg will represent the South Division at the league's All-Star Game on July 22 at Joe Wolfe Field in North Adams, MA.
The closer, who is entering his senior season, has a 1-1 record with nine saves and a microscopic 0.87 ERA in 20.2 innings over 16 appearances. He has 31 strikeouts and just six walks, and has held opponents to a .106 batting average.
Hallberg joins fellow pitcher Will Weidig (Katy, TX) as a summer All-Star. Weidig was named a Texas Collegiate League All-Star, but did not participate in the All-Star Game after making a start the day before.
