Ryan Murphy Named to NCAA Austin Regional All-Tournament Team

Round Rock, TX - Following the conclusion of the Regional Championship game between UC Irvine and Texas on Monday, Brown junior left fielder Ryan Murphy (Mantoloking, NJ) was named to the NCAA Austin Regional All-Tournament Team for his play in the Bears' two games this weekend. Murphy was Brown's top hitter, going 4-for-7 with a walk and an RBI in the Bears' losses to #5 Texas and Wake Forest.
Murphy finished the season with a team-high .410 batting average, also leading the team in on-base percentage (.491). Hitting in the number-two slot in the batting order for most of the year, he was also Brown's best hitter in advancing runners on base, successfully doing so almost 62 percent of the time (55 out of 89 opportunities), a team high.
