Providence, R.I. - Senior Steve Daniels (Fox Point, WI) was named to the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District team in baseball for the second consecutive year, earning First Team honors this season after being voted to the Second Team in 2008. The All-District squad is selected by voting members of the College Sports Information Directors of America.
An Economics major with a 3.63 GPA, Daniels comes off a terrific individual 2009 season, in which he helped the Bears win a school record 15 Ivy League games. Leading off and starting in centerfield for all 44 games, Daniels was fifth on the team with a .314 batting average, and had a team-high three triples among his 18 extra base hits. He also led the Bears by wide margins in runs scored and stolen bases, at 45 and 23 respectively. Daniels was even better in conference play, sporting a sparkling .390 batting average and hitting seven home runs in just 20 games.
