PROVIDENCE, RI - Freshman pitcher Chris Davidson (Wolfville, Nova Scotia) was named both the Ivy League Pitcher and Rookie of the Week on April 16.
Davidson (1-0), a 6'5 right-hander, threw a one-hitter in a 9-1 victory over the Cornell Big Red on Sunday to earn his first collegiate win. The freshman struck out a career-high 13 batters as he took a no-hitter deep into the fifth inning.
Davidson threw a complete game for the Bears, allowing one hit and one earned run over seven strong innings of work. He has recorded 27 strikeouts in 25.2 innings of work this season.
The Bears (15-16, 5-3 Ivy) are tied with Harvard atop the Ivy's Red Rolfe Divison and will return to action on Thursday, April 18 for a doubleheader against Pace and Army at Pace beginning at 1 p.m.
