For the second week in a row, Brown sophomore rightfielder Paul Christian (Chapel Hill, NC) has been named the Ivy League Player of the Week. Christian continued his hot hitting in six games last week, going 11-20 at the plate for a .550 average and a .900 slugging percentage. He also scored 12 runs while knocking in six, including two home runs.
In the Bear's 3-1 Ivy weekend, Christian raised his average to .571 while scoring 10 runs and tallying five RBI. He posted two three-hit games on the weekend, going 3-for-5 with two runs and an RBI in game two versus Princeton. He went 3-for-4 with four runs scored and two RBI in game one against Cornell.
In game one against URI, he recorded his second led-off homer of the season as he now as six total on the season, good for third in the league. Christian is batting .371 overall on the season, fifth in the Ancient Eight. His 24 runs ties him for third with teammate Bobby Deeb in the Ivies as well.
