Rain Holds Back Baseball Home-Opener Once Again
April 8, 2006
Providence, RI - With more rain moving through the northeast, the Brown baseball doubleheader against Princeton on Saturday has been postponed. The Bears will play Princeton on Sunday at noon and Cornell on Monday at noon. It will be a busy week of baseball at Brown as the team also has games scheduled on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The Bears have won three of their last four games, all Ivy League matches, after starting off the season 0-12. Brown is leading the Ivy League in batting with seven players batting over .300 on the year. Junior pitcher/second baseman Bryan Tews, the Ivy League's Player of the Week, is hitting a torrid .459 while sophomore Jeff Dietz, another starting pitcher/first baseman, is averaging .426 at the plate.
