Durham, NC - Four members of the Brown baseball team have been named to Baseball America's Preseason All-Ivy League team. In the outfield, senior Paul Christian, a First Team All-Ivy selection last year, along with junior Eric Larson, a 2005 MLB draftee, were both selected. Junior second baseman/pitcher Bryan Tews was also named to the Preseason team as was junior catcher Devin Thomas. Tews was a Second Team All-Ivy selection in 2005 while Thomas earned an Honorable Mention.
Brown was picked to finish second in the Red Rolfe Division behind defending champion Harvard. The Bears posted their best record in Ivy history last season, going 14-6, one game behind the Crimson.
While the 2006 season begins this weekend for many teams, the Bears and the rest of the Ivy League won't see action until the first week in March. Brown will travel down to Florida State for a three game series beginning on March 3.
