Providence, RI - Behind a furious offensive attack, the Brown baseball team captured its first-ever Ivy League Championship with a 20-6 win in Game Two of Saturday's Championship Series. Grand slams by sophomore Robert Papenhause (Hillsborough, CA) and senior Devin Thomas (Gainesville, FL) in the first two innings set the tone, as the Bears rapped out 22 hits. Thomas also broke Brown's single-season home run record with his second-inning blast to center field.
Every Brown starter had at least one hit in the game, led by Thomas' 4-for-6 performance. Senior James Cramphin (Simsbury, CT) picked up the win, going 5.1 innings and striking out 12 Penn batters.
