Junior Matt Kutler (Omaha, NE) hit a single in the bottom of the ninth to lift the Bears over the Big Green in game two of a doubleheader. Brown fell 5-1 to Dartmouth in game one and defeated the Big Green 4-3 to split the doubleheader at Dartmouth today Saturday April 19th.
Kutler was 1-3 with two runs batted in and a stolen base in game two as sophomore Bobby Wiginton (Fresno, CA) had one hit and scored one run. Freshman James Cramphin (Simsbury, CT) pitched a complete game giving up three runs, two earned. Cramphin struck-out seven batters and is now 3-0 in the Ivy League.
The Bears, now two games behind Harvard who is on top of the Rolfe division, have an overall record of 11-23-1 and an Ivy League record of 4-8. Brown will host Harvard April 25th and 26th at Aldrich-Dexter field. The Bears will travel to Marist before those games this Wednesday, April 23.
