Bears Split Doubleheader with Lions

The Baseball team split a doubleheader with the Lions of Columbia today Monday, April 14, 2003. The Bears dropped the first game 6-1, and defeated the Lions 10-4 in game two. Brown is now 8-20-1 overall and 3-5 in the Ivy League.
Sophomore Chris Davidson (Wolfville, Nova Scotia) pitched in six plus innings for Brown in game one. Davidson struck-out seven batters and gave up three earned runs. Junior Sam Jennings (New Ashford, MA) came in to relieve Davidson.
Junior Matt Kutler (Omaha, NE) was 2-4 with one run batted in. Freshman Cameron Johnson (Berkeley, CA) scored the lone run for the Bears, he was 1-2 in game one.
Freshman James Cramphin (Simsbury, CT) pitched in seven innings for the Bears , struck-out seven batters and gave up zero earned runs. Senior Dan Spring (Washington, DC) pitched in two innings for Brown, and gave up two earned runs.
Kutler was 2-5, with a three run homer and two runs scored while Johnson was 2-4 with three runs scored and a run batted in. Kutler and Johnson both had doubles, Johnson also had a triple. Sophomore Chris Contrino (Marlboro, NJ) was 1-3 with two runs scored.
The Bears will host Maine in a doubleheader at Aldrich-Dexter Field on the campus of Brown University Wednesday, April 16 starting at 1:00 p.m.
