The recipient of the Bessie H. Rudd Award, which is awarded to the female varsity athlete who has done the most to promote women's sports during the year, is women's skier senior Elizabeth Dibona (Waterville Valley, NH). Elizabeth is a four-year member of the Brown University women's ski team, and has had an outstanding career for the Bears.
She has been instrumental in helping place the program on the national level, leading it to four consecutive United States Collegiate Ski Association National Championship appearances, and a school best finish this year in the competition, as the Bears placed 4th in the meet.
Elizabeth has received numerous individual accolades as a skier at Brown. As a freshman, she was awarded the Kate Silver Award, which recognizes the University's outstanding first year female varsity athlete. She then went on to become a two-time All-American and two-time Academic All-American. She has broken every standing individual record in Brown skiing history. Most recently, Elizabeth was awarded the Distinguished Student Athlete Award presented by the Rhode Island Association for intercollegiate Athletes for Women.
Elizabeth is a two-year SAAB representative, and will graduate this spring with a degree in Architectural Studies.
