Bears Win BC Giant Slalom as Mosenthal Takes Second and Consiglio Finishes in Third

WILDCAT MOUNTAIN, NH - The Brown women's ski team rebounded from last Sunday's sixth-place finish at the UMass slalom by winning the giant slalom at the BC Carnival on Friday, February 6, held at Wildcat Mountain. The Bears The Bears were led by freshman Kia Mosenthal (Plymouth, NH), who took second place with a total time of 1:59.63, just .55 off the leader. Her 1:00.45 in the second run was also the fasted second-run time of the day.

Sophomore Krista Consiglio (Bethany, CT), who missed last week's races, returned to form and claimed third place with a two-run time of 2:01.43. Sophomore Blaine Martin (Salt Lake City, UT), another skier who missed last week's races, came up big for Brown, finishing in 20th place with a two-run time of 2:05.53.

Senior Anna Bengtson (St. Johnsbury, VT) earned 41st with a two-run time of 2:15.36, while senior Susan Kovar (Middleburg Heights, OH) was Brown's fifth skier to finish, taking 65th with a two-run time of 3:14.69.

The Bears close out the regular season on Saturday, February 7, when they participate in the slalom at Wildcat.
