Michael LeBlanc became the head women's varsity and men's club skiing coach at Brown in mid-October, 2004. LeBlanc joined the Bears after coaching stints at UMass and the Diamond Peak Ski Education Foundation.
Over his tenure at Brown, LeBlanc and the women's ski team have seen great success. The team has recorded three second-place finishes at the USCSA National Championship, including a runner-up showing in the 2016 season. In his 12 years of coaching at College Hill, Leblanc's teams have having never placed lower than 10th at the USCSA National Championship. LeBlanc has also guided the squad to five USCSA Eastern Regional Championships, including four straight from 2012-2015. The Bears recorded an impressive 46 race-win streak in the MacConnell Division that spanned from the beginning of 2012 into 2016. The 2016 USCSA ECSC MacConnell Division Coach of the Year, LeBlanc and the Bears have also won five straight MacConnell Division titles (2012-2016).
The Assistant Program Director and Alpine Ski Coach at the Diamond Peak Ski Education Foundation through November of 2003, LeBlanc worked with the Junior 1,2 and 3 programs, developing athletes from age 13-21. Before heading to the Nevada-based Foundation, LeBlanc served as the Men's and Women's Alpine Ski Coach at UMass from January of 2001 to May of 2003.
While at UMass, LeBlanc was instrumental in guiding the women's team to an Eastern Division title as well as a National Championship, the first National Championship season for the school. In addition, he guided the men's team to a second place finish at the Eastern Championship, and a seventh place finish in the national standings. Combined, LeBlanc coached 13 All-America selections at the 2003 USCSA National Championships.
A 2000 graduate of Plymouth State University with a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies - Outdoor Experiential Education/Health Education, LeBlanc completed his M.ED. in Higher Education Administration at UMass in the fall of 2014. He competed on the Varsity Ski Team at the University of New Hampshire from 1997-1998 and on the Varsity Ski Team at Plymouth State from 1999-2000.
