  • Brown University Leads Nation in NCAA APR Public Recognition Awards for Second Straight Year

    Today the NCAA recognized more than 1,200 Division I teams for outstanding academic achievements. Brown University tied with Dartmouth College for the highest number of Public Recognition Awards with 19 teams apiece.

    Baseball freshman outfielder Garett Delano and women’s skiing senior Natalie Pearl have earned Brown University Athletics Student-Athlete of the Week honors for the week of Mar. 6-12, Brown announced on Monday.
  • Skiing Finishes Third in Giant Slalom and Third Overall at USCSA Nationals

    The Brown skiing team finished third in the giant slalom with a time of 7:01.74 at the USCSA National Championships held at Mount Bachelor on Saturday and also concluded the championship in third place overall. The championship marks the 13th consecutive year that Brown has made it to the USCSA Nationals.

    The Brown ski team competed in the slalom on Tuesday, placing third overall, to open competition at the USCSA National Championships held at Mount Bachelor.
  • Skiing Finishes First at USCSA Eastern Regional Championships

    The Brown ski team won the United States Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association (USCSA) Eastern Regional Championship at West Mountain with races on Saturday and Sunday.
  • Skiing Takes Home Multiple MacConnell Division Honors, Wins Final Races of Regular Season

    The Brown ski team won its third-straight carnival by recording victories in two slalom races at Blackwater/Proctor Academy on Saturday, Feb. 11 and Sunday, Feb. 12. Following the races, the last of the regular season, senior Ali Gunesch (Sandy, Ore.) was named MacConnell Division Skier of the Year, repeating the honor as she was also named skier of the year in 2016. First-year head coach Alex Norden took home MacConnell Division Coach of the Year laurels.

    The Brown ski team won both events for the second-straight week in the St. Anselm Carnival at Crotched Mountain on Saturday, Feb. 4 and Sunday, Feb. 5. Senior Ali Gunesch (Sandy, Ore.) took home the top finish in both the slalom and giant slalom.
  • Skiing Wins Both Events at Clarkson Carnival

    The Brown ski team won both giant slalom events in the Clarkson Carnival at Whiteface Mountain on Friday, Jan. 27 and Saturday, Jan. 28. Senior Ali Gunesch (Sandy, Ore.) was the individual winner in Saturday’s race.

    The Brown ski team placed first in the giant slalom and third in the slalom at the Castleton Carnival on Saturday, Jan. 21 and Sunday, Jan. 22 at West Mountain.

    The five-time defending MacConnell Division Champion Brown ski team opened its 2017 season at the UConn Carnival on Thursday, Jan. 12 and Friday, Jan. 13 at t Okemo Mountain.
  • Skiing Opens Season on Thursday at Okemo

    The Brown ski team will open the 2017 season under first-year head coach Alex Norden at Okemo Mountain in Ludlow, Vt. on Thursday (giant slalom) and Friday (slalom). Harvard will also be competing as a guest team at Okemo in addition to the MacConnell Division teams.
