LAKE PLACID, N.Y. – The Brown skiing team finished its strong 2014 campaign with a third place finish in the alpine events portion of the USCSA National Championships held at Whiteface Mountain in Lake Placid. Rocky Mountain College claimed the title in the alpine events while Sierra Nevada College finished as the runner-up.
In the giant slalom, freshman Natalie Pearl (Steamboat Springs, Colo.) claimed a spot on the podium with a third place finish (2:07.46) while Ali Gunesch (Sandy, Ore.) placed 10th overall out of 78 participants.
Gunesch and Pearl were the top Brown performers in the slalom event, finishing 11th and 15th respectively. Eugenia Kronenberg (New York, N.Y.) placed 25th overall out of 71 participants with a mark of 1:50.43.
The third place ranking is the highest finish for the Bears at the USCSA National Championships since placing second overall in 2005.
