CARRABASSETT VALLEY, Maine – The Brown skiing team boasted three of the top-five overall finishers at the ECSC Regionals held at Sugarloaf USA en route to its third consecutive regional title.
Brown claimed both the giant slalom and slalom events to advance to the USCSA National Championships held in Lake Placid from March 10-15.
Amanda Engelhardt (Plymouth, N.H.) shined for the Bears as she took the slalom crown and finished second in the giant slalom to claim the overall title of the event.
Teammates Emma LeBlanc (Darien, Conn.) and Ali Gunesch (Sandy, Ore.) placed second and fifth, respectively, earning USCSA All-Eastern Region First Team accolades in the process. LeBlanc scored a victory in the giant slalom with a mark of 1:51.65, before finishing ninth in the slalom event the following day.
Gunesch recorded strong performances each day, placing third in the slalom (1:30.28) and fifth in the giant slalom (1:54.47).
