BROMLEY, Vt. – The Brown ski team secured its third consecutive MacConnell Division crown with strong performances in the Castleton State Carnival this weekend at Bromley.
With the victories in both slalom events this weekend, the Bears extend their MacConnell Division winning streak to 30.
On Saturday, Amanda Engelhardt (1:30.25) and Ali Gunesch (1:30.99) paced the Bears as the finished with a team time of 6:04.22 in the slalom event. The win was Engelhardt's third triumph of the season while Gunesch placed in the top-three for the third time in the last four events.
In Sunday's slalom event, freshman Natalie Pearl claimed victory with a time of 1:23.81 while Engelhardt continued her strong performance in placing second overall, clocking in at 1:24.29.
Brown will be idle for two weeks before traveling to Sugarloaf for the USCSA Eastern Regionals from Feb. 22-23.
